The cheesy song titlez are redeemed by the riffs, dude. I mean some of those riffs in Hauntedy by Horror are probably among some of the best stuff Blakkheim has ever written.

Yeah it's great stuff man, I love it. And I love me some cheese as well so I'm not complaining

Yeah, Idk whether I'd even call this cheesy. When I hear "cheesy" I think of orchestra metal and stuff like that.
I mean this certainly has SOME cheese but I think this is pretty much one of the more melodic forms of black metal done right. Particularly since I've been digging "less polished" stuff as of late. (getting back at lot of my stuff from early metal years, incredible what kind of good stuff I already had when I was an angsty teen)

Yeah I've been digging the rawer stuff more lately as well, which is probably why I find this cheesier than it probably is. But then again, raw black metal is cheesy in its own right, and hell metal as a whole is pretty cheesy which is why I don't find cheesiness to be a negative when it comes to metal. It's all cheesy to some degree, and intentionally so, which is why we love it.

I have never heard the term "hell metal". I'm not saying "raw black metal" or any more specific stylistic direction, I'm talking more about production and mastering. I wouldn't call TRoBs early stuff "raw BM" but the production is definitely more raw and less polished, but not murky.
I don't like the vber svper vndergrovnd shyt that tries to emulate first/second Wave basement dweller/hermit alone in the woods sound - often I just find it to be poorly executed. That's why I liked a lot of Wod-Ván projects, they executed somewhat "raw" production really well.

I should've put a comma after hell lol
But personally, I really dig the very raw/murky production when properly executed. A newer example would be Fell Voice's new record which didn't really get a very good reception but I loved it. But yeah, TRoB and other Wod-Van projects rule and sort of strike a balance which is sweet

Stop givin me bad ideas, hype.
Although, doing some potluck-esque stuff with specific music blasting in the background. And good beer/mead/whiskey. Mhmm.

Didn't Swano do the drums on this? He rules all things metal.

yeah swano played the drums and produced it, which is weird cause i honestly think swano is kind of a shit producer when it comes to stuff from this time period, but he got it perfect here.
i cant think of any other albums save mercyful fate/king diamond that really successfully capture an awesome horror film atmosphere as successfully as this does, its like tongue in cheek but in a way where you could tell whoever was behind it loved the idea and was actually inspired instead of just doing it for shits, kind of like how all the best horror movies end up being made.

Yeah he's pretty awesome, I wish he'd do more! I'm sure he's been pretty busy with Katatonia though over the past few years.

yeah i dont even like katatonia especially since they went all soft but i love this project
wish he would pick it back up, its like an extreme metal extension of king diamond in more ways than one.

Yeah dude, I love how it's theatrical and borderline cheesy but it's so unique and bizarre at the same time that it comes off as pretty ingenious.

Yeah, this > Katatonia by miles.
