I liked Burning Bridges but the vocal aspect that Johan brought to the foray was cool. I don't like Angela that much so I doubt I'd enjoy this.

I neged the review because it was stupid, he was bashing Arch Enemy before he even got started. The first and last paragraph were border-line moronic. He just have a beef with a woman growling.

Ummm ya I'm bashing Arch Enemy alright.... but take a look at the ratings I gave to their other album that I own, Doomsday Machine got a 4 and Anthems Of Rebellion got a 4. Yep, I really hate this band a lot.

The only beef he has about this album are the vocals, and unoriginal work?

That's all it takes to give this a 2.5.

Its way different than there last two album which hardly ever had good riffs.

Obviously you don't know what good riffs are.

He gave a minus to filler songs, but MOST songs had an interesting riff or two??

Just because the song has a good riff or two DOES NOT make it a good song as a whole.

It makes no sense why he gave this a 2.5 (cutting out the first and last paragraph), because when he describes the album it sounds like he likes it.

I liked the guitars, thats about it. You seem to forget I gave this a 2.5, not a 1....

He wants them to make a 10 to 12 minute song to get his attention, new flash they aren't OPETH, they are Arch Enemy, a Melodic Death Metal band

That is a very close minded statement. Insomnium has made 3 songs which go over 9 minutes, and they are a melodic death metal band. Dark Tranquillity has made two songs over 8 minutes, and they are a melodic death metal band.

Case in point, Opeth is NOT the only band who makes long songs.

and a very good one.

They were good two albums ago. Now, they are just monotonous.

Shut your mouth and think about what you're saying before you say it.

when a band doesn't really diverge from their style album after album a reviewer is bound to find an album boring somewhere along the line, it doesn't surprise me.

I just hope whichever brother it is who joined Opeth turns out to be more creative than he is on this.

Neither of the Amott brothers joined Opeth. Fredrik Ã…kesson joined Opeth when Peter left.

Amon Amarth's old drummer is the new Opeth drummer...I'm pretty bummed about that. drums is probably the one thing Akerfeldt can't direct, so...we'll have to see

Wow you have no idea what the hell you are talking about do you? Amom Amarth's "old" drummer was Martin Lopez. Martin Axenrot is now drumming for Opeth. I think you should get your shit straight before you start trying to drop facts.

yeah opeth's guitarist and drummer quit not too long ago, so one of the Anderson's applied for the job

Once again, no! There were never any Anderson's in Arch Enemy! Jesus Christ, you are an idiot...

Ya, her vocals are not that much different, just not overly produced like on her last two, sounds like she growling through a electronic mirc.

"That's all it takes to give this a 2.5. "

Yet they did the last two albums this was acceptable? Cause theres nothing too ground breaking on those two.

"Obviously you don't know what good riffs are."

Thats your lame opinion

"Just because the song has a good riff or two DOES NOT make it a good song as a whole."

Ya, but a filler song is something that has nothing interesting about it. There last two had many songs like that, without the interesting riffs, and less technical. There last one didn't even have the second Arnott brother. So they were short handed, meaning why they were not as good.

"That is a very close minded statement. Insomnium has made 3 songs which go over 9 minutes, and they are a melodic death metal band. Dark Tranquillity has made two songs over 8 minutes, and they are a melodic death metal band."

Ya but they have made 6 albums before and they never had a 8+ Minute song. So all the sudden they need one now, cause its some law of Metal.

"They were good two albums ago. Now, they are just monotonous.

Shut your mouth and think about what you're saying before you say it."

They were good before the last two albums, like in Wages of Sin and Stigmata. The last sentance just proves you an immature asshole. This Message Edited On 11.10.07

Pebster, you have really horrible taste in music so stop being a pain. The neg was also unjustified given your stupid rant (not that this by no means doesnt deserve a neg). This Message Edited On 11.10.07

Thank you Kalkal, you actually gave justifiable reasons why you didn't like this review.

I relistened to this album last night actually. It's definitely not as good as Doomsday Machine.

I think this album is very well produced, the vocals are better then doomsday machine and the riffs aswell. Still this album got some filler songs which make this album not as big as it could be. I still think this is the best one they made since Wages of Sin.

Because its the worst album they have put out. Alot of people think Anthems of Rebellion was bad; that album destroys this one!

Yeah, I initially liked this album but it got old fairly quick. The first three songs and "Darkness Falls" bump it up to a 3 though.

I think I might lower this to a 2. I think I've listened to it 4 times since I bought it. Three listens when I was writing this review, one listen to just laugh at it.
