I'm guessing the majority of the people who commented on this album also commented on the most recent PANIC at the Disco CD and gave it a 5/5 and stated that its style is similar to that of The Beatles. What a joke..
Enter Shikari has a unique style that many of you don't seem to recognize because all you do is bitch and complain about how they rerecorded most of their old songs and put them on a CD. There was probably only one song on this album that I didn't care for very much. The rest of them were excellent. And for those of you who say that they aren't "harcdcore," what defines "hardcore" music? I don't know. Anyway, I think this is a great album, and this band has a lot of potential.

A good band, writing good, catchy songs. Live they didnt disapoint, and played all the best songs of this album flawlessly, good fun, and also good moshing! I would say the weakest part of their sound is the screaming- the gang shouts are amazing, and twice as epic live however!

you know it's funny every time i spinned this in the past all i could think was meh - now it has hit me; this is actually really rather good
|
| |
no this sucks
|
| |
not really - the only part of the album i don't enjoy to some extent is everything between labyrinth and sorry you're not a winner (although those two songs themselves are great).

Only heard half of this, hence no rating. Post-Hardcore has interesting concepts but not very many bands are good enough to execute them. This was quite boring.

I would say I agree with most of what this review says. I think the songwriting well definitely improve with experience and maturity. We have to remember that Shikari are a very young band. Im surprised I nearly dismissed them as 'just another emo band' because now I've given them the chance, I must say I'm impressed. Its so fresh to hear something so original.
Finally, a band who are deserving of every succes they get. I just hope they won't sell out on their second album- something other bands (Bullet for my Valentine, Trivium) did after successful debut albums.
Please note- that is no disrespect to BFMV or Triv fans. I too am a fan of both. Also, the 'sell-out' comment is just my opinion.

'just another emo band
Who says that?
|
| |
I did. Reading about them in magazine, I was given the impression they were just another emo band. As I said above- I was wrong. I was mistaken. They are masters. So it was I who said.
Also, Post-Hardcore and hardcore isn't normally my style so I was surprised to like this.
Enter Shikari are pretty insane. It'll be interesting to see when their next album is due for release. I hope it can follow on from this on in terms of greatness!

Ok i misread what you said silly me

Lol. I apologise then. I also apologise for my comment I just left on the Trivium review. I got the idea you were somehow insulting Trivium. I can get a bit fiery sometimes.
My apologies once again...

No they are in no way emo. Hence why a) i read a magazine that gave that impression and b) i like them. ES are a truly gifted band.
