Haha, that good? Mine is going to stick with 4.5, I still love it, but I've only ever given two classics and this hasn't done quite enough yet to deserve that.

Werd, thanks Crimson, 17 bucks including shipping and handling, it's a steal lol and it's on it's way.

Umm...you stole this exact statement directly from my head. You sir, are a brain ninja lol.

These guys remind me of Dark Tranquillity + Opeth. That, my friends, equals bad a$$ lol

One of the best albums I've heard in YEARS, Moonsorrow's newest is king for me, but this is right up there. This Message Edited On 01.23.08

^^^Yeah, that's the thing, the very first time you hear it, it comes right off as a 4 (an excellent album in other words ). Something that good really can only get better with multiple, more intensive listens. This Message Edited On 01.25.08

Once again, I still can't believe this is their debut. Even Wintersun doesn't count cause those guys were in bands before. The complexity of the compositions, the maturity and the intelligence of the flow and the change-ups, how well they play their instruments, how they balance each song, and the album as a whole, between the heavy and the clam, how they employ multiple varying sounds/elements, but never overmuch, it's scary. This feels like the 3rd or 4th album from a well established, seasoned band. My only fear about these guys is that they've set their own bar so high that if they don't put out something completely insane next, people will be disappointed

From the one track they have shown me ('Aspect' iirc) their next album will be just as good, seemed a bit more keyboard heavy than this at the start, but it got really good once the main keyboard melody ended, and then it just gets better and better, and I mean, insane levels of good. This Message Edited On 01.26.08

Hopefully towards the end of this year, as I think they have at least three tracks already written (Held in Hollows and Aspect definitely) so far, possibly more, I haven't spoken with them in a while.

I forgot I had even heard that first one, 'tis better than Aspect, and as good as anything on this album easily, next album will slay. This Message Edited On 01.26.08This Message Edited On 02.16.08

2008 is gonna be insane. Moonsorrow's EP, Opeth's newest, COB's Blooddrunk, Communic's new joint, Fear Factory is due, these guys' next masterpiece, Wintersun's next craziness...and I'm new to this scene, this is just what's been announced that I know of, my GOD lol. I'm pretty hyped for a band that's gonna release their debut this year (hopefully), but that's only because it has Dan Swano doing lead growls.

I can see the next Be'lakor album topping my best of list again this year, it's ridiculous that they're not signed.

I have a theory as to why. Record label's want someone they can make money off of for a while. You and I know they have plenty of supreme metal material in them, but I bet the studios took one listen of this and was like "This is too good, you can't debut with this, what're you gonna make that's gonna sell half as much afterwards?" lol. Greedy, blind-ass record companies.

Of course I don't really know what I'm talking about, but that's certainly the only explanation I can come up with lol

this band is in some ways is like nothing I've heard.

The piano/keyboard and acoustic elements especially are memoriable.

However, there's only 6 songs, one's just a piano instrumental (which is good, not great) the drumming is very simple at times, and the vocals are servicable, but not excellent.

Still a great band, the new stuff should be spectacular. This Message Edited On 02.16.08

Saying it's only six songs isn't really a valid argument considering you still get 40 minutes of material here, about as much as I would expect in an average album.
