This is my 4th favourite pumpkins album (behind siamese dream, gish, judas 0), maybe 3rd equal with judas, but i still give it 5/5.

2 of my all tiem fav's are on here (thru the eyes of ruby and porcelina). I would also give x.y.u. a 10/10, its such a powerful song, and i usually dont like heavy songs but for some reason i love that one.

As a side note, I really wish they would have included "Ugly". It's really one of my favorite Pumpkins songs, although it focuses mostly on Billy, not the band.

Yeah, SP should've replaced Tales of a Scorched Earth with Ugly or God even.

I'd rather replace it with God though because it's an angry song and it'd fill the spot of Tales of a Scorched Earth better.

there arenīt many bands that could equal what the smashing pumpkins have done, specially in the new scene, mellon collie is a masterpiece and one of the best albums ever in my opinion, i dont think this band is overrated at all, siamese dream is also a great record.
good review :thumb:

Holy crap, i listened to the second disc through and all the tracks i used to dislike (By starlight, farewell and goodnight, in the arms of sleep, beautiful) are all great songs. I guess that shows my passive attitude...

iv been getting to all the songs on this cd, recently its been the hard songs like Jellybelly, an ode to no one, where boys fear to thread, tales of a scorced earth, and X. Y. U. dont know why but the harder side of the pumpkins is catching me lately. and cause its awesome to learn on guitar.

Excellent review! I really don't mind Corgan's voice, although I think it can be a tad agrivating. Still, the instrumentals work excellently so it works out.

Yeh Siamese Dream is my favourite album. Tales of a Schorched earth has some value, disagree? Thought so.
Still, it ceases to amaze me that Ugly and The Boy never made this album. The Boy was such a great song, should of been on here. Was tonite reprise related to Tonight Tonight by any chance?
