Black Metal with no ambience, defies the whole point of Black metal IMO.

The point of Black Metal is to be raw and heavy, not to be ambient.

im sure, but if i want heavy i listen to some thing different, I enjoy the ambience in BM, which this lacks (MO)

Emperor was the first band to really introduce ambiance into Black Metal, they and Burzum do it the best. Dissection concentrated more on melodies than ambiance, and they hit the nail on the head. This album and The Somberlain are classics. This Message Edited On 09.29.07

A 2.5 3 is quite unreasonable for an album of this magnitude, give this a couple a spins. Blasphemy.

Besides Burzum I can't think of a band which incorporated keyboards into Black Metal in the early 90's.... can you?

These guys are awesome because they have Death Metal Influces in Black Metal...out of all the big known accepted in the Metal world Black Metal bands(like Emperior, Mayhem, Enslaved, etc...) These guys are my favorite, really the only once I can listen to.

Ya I know that, I acknowledged it before, but in terms of early 90's I wasnt thinking 1994, I was thinking more of 1990-1992.

Ya in terms of musical talent Enslaved puts mayhem to shame, but I like Mayhem because of the impact they had on the Norwegian Black Metal scene, so I guess they get some credit.

You gave this album a 3 so you are not properly qualified to speak of black metal.

J/k. From what i've heard of both bands i'd say Enslaved over Mayhem though.
