I used to hate this album when I first got into Dream Theater, also back before I'd ever listened to any true prog rock and now I absolutely love it. There are a filler tracks but the first 4 tracks and Only A Matter of Time are probably among their best songs. HUGE Marillion influence.

I know if they re-recorded it, the bass would be nearly inaudible which is part of what makes this so good. If they'd done a new
recording in 92-95 it would have been amazing. LaBrie's voice was actually pretty good back then.

I'm a black metal fan so to me this really isn't my sort of thing plus I don't like Dream Theater's style of going for nothing but wankery and no structure and the vocals are as irritating as it gets
