The high point from this album I find was when Bif Naked covered Nothing Else Matters.

(The general marking point for Metallica’s plunge into mediocrity is to determine when they started sounding worse than Megadeth.)
1984?
You're quite a few years off.
And this is by far a better album than Risk as well.

this bash metallica thing seriously pisses me off you guys all know you love them youre just jumping ship now like fucking traitors!

Shut up, Rattlehead. What would you know? Metallica was amazing in the 80s. The reason everybody hates the Black Album is because it was significantly worse than the rest of their material, or, if you don't agree with that, different in a way that people didn't like. Your comment about traitors was very bemusing. So, according to you, if you love a band at any point during their career, you should stick with them and condone all change in their sound, even if you hate it? That is quite frankly moronic. And please make your point more clear. Are you criticizing people who don't like Metallica or people who used to like Metallica but not anymore?

Why do you fail to see that not everybody loves them? Are you so close-minded that you cannot imagine that an opinion different from yours might not be a sham? Hang out with some different people.

thesystemisdown,
Your opinion is respected by me, however, learn to write a bit more constructively instead of bashing someone elses opinion. Sounding angry when you write will not convince your audience that you are intelligent.

system,
youre a fucking idiot. what i mean is that this is a great album. and no you do not stick with a band no matter what because after this album metallica material sucked. my point is so fucking simple. i dont even like metallica that much anyway and i know some people dont but every metallica fan is trying to be a purist now and say this album sucks when they know they sucked its cock when they first heard it.
and @ the wizard:
i agree however that comment pissed me off so i got a little angry too^

what would i know? fuck you. you probably think this is the only good metal out there. megadeth kicks this bands ass so dont act like some expert asking me what i knowThis Message Edited On 08.09.07

OK yeah, the_wizard, I agree that I did kind of bash his opinion. However, I feel that if he wants to call me a "****ing traitor," then he knows what he's getting himself into and I can respond to that similarly. Rattlehead, I will try not to directly insult you or your opinions so much.
I disagree that this is a great album, but you already know that. And maybe some Metallica fans liked or even loved this when it came out but I didn't. And when I got this CD, my musical taste was really bad. Linkin Park was my favorite band at that time. You see what you're dealing with. And even THEN I didn't like this. Of course, it was for different reasons; i.e, the songs were too long. However, I honestly admit that I have never in my entire life enjoyed this CD. The best I felt about it was "it's not very good, but there are a few good songs." So please don't generalize and say that everybody who hates this album once loved it. And incidentally, what is wrong with loving an album and then growing to hate it? As long as you don't do it just to look good, it's cool, right?
I personally happen to think that Megadeth isn't as good as Metallica, and I'm curious as to why you think that. I mean, if by "Metallica" you're talking about post-AJFA Metallica, then obviously I understand. I like Megadeth, though, no worries, I just like Metallica better.
And I like metal; in fact, my favorite genre is metal. Look at my ratings pie chart if that's in question. Iron Maiden, Mastodon, System of a Down, Tool, Slipknot... I mean, maybe you don't respect or like any of those bands but they're all metal.

Rattlehead: Youre far into losing this argument, so just stop. Your post was moronic, directing ridicule at thesystemisdown for thinking this is a bad album. Its not "jumping ship" to hate this album, judging by the average users rating this seems to be a very popular album. And it doesnt make you cool to go through the trouble to italicize the "u" so you can drop the f-bomb.
|
| |
Metallica pwn Megadeth.
Edit: BTW, someone teach me how to drop the f-bomb without it getting censored. Please. This Message Edited On 08.09.07

you guys all know you love them
You mean me, or my evil twin?

Bf, shut up. everyone knows about the italicizing and system just pissed me off. what i was saying was that everyone used to love this album and now suddenly a lot of people are bashing metallica, ie the master of puppets album. its a simple concept really, and i could get angry and italicize more "u's" but i dont think i will this time.
System, ok we're cool now. my favorite band when i first heard the black album was also linkin park. i dont know why everyone took my first two posts so seriously considering i was just trying to point something out, actually the post where i said "traitor" was half joking i was just getting excited sorry to offend.
oh and rust in peace destroys anything metallica ever did. thank god dave got kicked out of metallica.
