Here's a challenge, write a review about an album you sincerely think deserves a 5 and back it up. If there is such a thing i will be shocked.
If you just keep trashing albums you dislike nobody will take you seriously and they will think you are either an incapable reviewer or a troll.
When people said your reviews weren't written well, they weren't lying. This one is amateurish and poorly written. I'd respect what you're doing a hell of alot more if you did it right, but you're not. Even though I somewhat agree that this isn't a particularly enthralling record. A bit of advice, go and take a gander at Illuvatars more recent reviews - they're stylistically similar to what you're trying to achieve, but much better written. Aggressive reviews can be fantastic, but they're incredibly hard to write well, and you're simply not capable of pulling it off. especially to get any sort of respect for the sort of albums you're reviewing.
This.

meatplow-- i can't think of a single album deserving of a perfect 5 because every album contains garbage.
|
| |
what album doesnt have some bad songs in it?
|
| |
the drummer plays one beat?! have you ever listened to the song "hot for teacher"?
and the whole bit about van halen being uninventive ur going to have to explain me to me. i mean seriously, i don't even play guitar and i can tell the guy has melodic tallent.
|
| |
Well i'm at a loss of what to say to you.
|
| |
hey how do u get that quote thing to work. i can't do it and the explanation didn't make sense to me. i know im dumb.
|
| |
"the drummer plays one beat?! have you ever listened to the song "hot for teacher"?
yes. i'm also aware that it is not on this album.
|
| |
meatplow-- that happened last night so i i advise you give up.
|
| |
btw-- this one even i will agree isn't written as well as any of my others. that's because i used the tacky TBT format which messed me all up. i did that because before this post, the argument was that i write well, but don't give enough detail. funny, each review the people come up with a new reason why i suck. when will they come out and admit it is because they don't like my opinions?
|
| |
don't give me that shit. if you reviewed that album you would say the exact same things.

@ Merkaba
[ QUOTE=Meatplow][ /QUOTE]
Get rid of the two spaces i put between the brackets i only did that because it disappears when i hit the post button if i type it properly. Type or paste it in that exact format, just position the name where mine is and paste the message you are quoting in between
[ QUOTE=Merkaba]hey how do u get that quote thing to work. i can't do it and the explanation didn't make sense to me. i know im dumb.[ /QUOTE]
equals when the spaces are gone

thanks dog.
|

no problem
|
| |
don't give me that ****. if you reviewed that album you would say the exact same things.
No, i would mention the fact that Alex Van Halen's drum intro to Hot for Teacher would be impressive if not for the fact that he was using a little contraption the basically allows about 6 bass drums to be played cinematically with the kick of a single pedal. didn't know that? didn't think so. Alex, like his bro, can't really play; he needs "special effects" so's to say to make it sound better than it is.
|
| |
more power to him if he can use such a device. so what's this device called anyways? I'm sort of intrigued now.
|
| |
correction: it wasnt a contraption, it was just good ol studio overdubbing.
|
| |
aww you got me all exited for nothing. somehow i think you knew that when you wrote contraption but i'll let it slide. but you have to admit the way it sounds like a car starting is pretty cool. eh?

each review the people come up with a new reason why i suck.
It's cause they more or less do.
Look at Meds 10,000 days (Tool) review, Illuvatars Dark Side of the Moon (Pink Floyd) review. Fantastically written 'anti' reviews. Even your reviews combined couldn't touch the level of writing on those.

I read the Dark Side of the Moon review. Here are the difference between me and that reviewer that I saw:
I'm more blunt/sarcastic. I'm sorry but this will never change, so if this is the problem, don't even try to stop it.
I guess they um... add more "I's" and "I think's" in their review?
I really don't see much of a difference. She claims Glimour's vocals are really bad and sleepy. I agree, but why is that some sort of objective statement, compared to me saying EVH's playing consisted of playing random notes that don't even fit in with the song, all enhanced by fx pedals to make it sound more impressive? Let me tell you the difference: That person was more nuanced. I said what I disliked about EVH's playing, and then essentially said it sucked.
What is it, exactly, that you see in that review missing from mine? Cuz I'm not seeing much. That peson expresses their opinions differently than me. but so far as I can see, they do not expand anymore on WHY they hold that opinion than I do.
