Christian black metal isn't that much different than regular black metal. Dull and uninteresting.

Calling Define The Great Line good is an understatement, that record straight up owns (I mean Joe gave it an above average score so that alone should tell you something). And yeah I do agree plenty of Christian metalcore bands are way overrated, TDWP is a great example of that.

Antestor, Crimson Moonlight, Admonish etc, are a few bands that play black metal with christian lyrical themes that I can think of off the top of my head.

yeah, it's called 'Unblack metal', white metal is a much less used term for the genre.

I don't like this band much and the new stuff is not good, and sounds pretty much the same with a bit more overproduction in the mix in my honest opinion.

I love the breakdown after the solo in "The Balance", the syncopated rhythms are awesome as both guitarists trade off palm muted riffs.

Wow, unblack metal. What the fuck? Can't the Christians try to not convert everything they get their hands on?

Chan,
White Metal, funniest thing Ive heard in a while.

who cares what a bands religion is. if i heard an athiest or a satanist pick up an acoustic guitar and start singing i would say, "hmmm. hes got a good voice" instead of "damn satanists stop stealing our music." no matter what the lyrics are

um it's an oxymoron and christians are meddling. metal is no place for people with beliefs other than that of SATAN
ooooh ok, that makes sense

Sorry to stir things up, I was simply kidding. I dont really give a shit what you believe in, good music is undeniable whether you are Christian or a Satanist.

All you guys bashing this band must be pure metallica and

"new" trivium fans. August Burns Red certianly has their own sound unlike any other band. They are some of the more creative musicians on the metalcore scene. Messengers blows Thrill Seeker out of the water. If you think it is repetitive you must be kidding. Each song has something different to offer. I guess some of you just don't have a developed taste for metalcore. Not all metalcore sounds the same, and alot of metalcore musicians are very underrated. All of these guys are extremely talented and creative. I do not expect these guys to let me down for as long as they are a band.

Actually, most people here either hate Metallica or grew out of them long ago.
