I fucking love this album so much. Where Vertebrae took more for me to get into, Ruun just clicked with me. Awesome riffs, good melodies, and it just has that great feel to it.

Why would you cast aside an album simply because the lyrics are written in another language?

I'm really beginning to appreciate Enslaved much more than I did when I first got into them 4ish years ago. I need to finish reviewing Mardraum.

It's the bridge to the gap between their strictly black-metal beginnings and their current peculiar progressive stylings. If you've heard their album, Blodhemn, it's a lot like that one in general sound but the songwriting became less generic and they further delved into progressive backdrops. It's not as zany as they became on "Monumension" but it's a good mix between the two main stages of Enslaved. It's one of my personal favorites of theirs, right behind Isa.
