I heard a Terrapin from 93 yesterday, was a terrible show, but the Terrapin was wonderful.

to answer the question, I do like the LP version as a prog piece, they only played it a few times in its entirety due to how hard it was to play,
check the Dozin at the KNick release most of it is perfomed on it
yes the dead can crush prog when they want

maybe in another timeline the Dead never made Shakedown street and continued to build on the prog tendencies found here and a bit on Allah... not that i don't love Shakedown and material after but you have to admit that would have been interesting
