Thats Mustaine for you. Kill Em All is so good. He wrote most of Metallica's good material. After they ran out of his songs (puppets era) they basically began to get really weak.

eh, metallica can kiss Mustaine's balls, he only gained from leaving. I will probably do an un-needed, unnecessary Metallica review one of these days.

No. After lightning they had nothing. Hence puppets era when they ran out.

Oh i see. Metallica would have been better of with dave.(obviously) but it was also a good thing because megadeth have made some amazing albums as well.

Master of Puppets is arguably considered their magnus opus but Ride The Lightning is close second in my book. This record is essential and extreme influential to an entire generation of metal heads worldwide. All songs here are anthems but my favourites are Fight Fire With Fire, Ride The Lightning, For Whom The Bell Tolls, Fade To Black, The Call Of Ktulu and specially Creeping Death, in my opinion their best song.

An absolute classic.

This album is wayy better than Puppets. Puppets has 3 thrash songs, Lars had already taken hold and began moving the band in a shittier direction towards the Black album, which got sidetracked due to Burton's death. Lightning is their true thrash classic.

Both records are absolute classics.

Don't be to hard on Master bro. All these songs are 5/5:

Battery

Master of Puppets

Welcome Home (Sanitarium)

Disposable Heroes

Leper messiah

Damage, Inc.

and specially....Orion...such a masterpiece

I'm not hard on it, solid 3.5. I just find it really overrated when it's always regarded as Metallica's best work.

Review sums up my thoughts on this album almost perfectly. Although Fade to Black is one of my all time favorite songs. Classic album.

MoP's songcraft was more refined, but the riffs and songs on here are legendary as fuck.

One of metal's greatest gems and Metallica's best album.
