That was actually a surprisingly mature comment colleen. I'm not too sure about those figures but the idea seems fair enough. If you can truly relate to one man's message then I'm not about to stop you. But you can't just come on here and completely disregard everyone's opinion. You're allowed an opinion, but so is everyone else. That's the only reason I posted on here. Just don't do it again.

everything tom morello does tries to be political and it gets kind of annoying.... basically "fight the power!"
it's bullshit

Just popping in briefly, think his new record is quite okay, though I got a weakness for singer/songwriters, one man with one guitar.
Stop bitching about peoples' opinions, it's gotta take more than an internet forum discussion to change them. Probably everything will just end up causing frustration from all sides, whatever those sides may be in this.

I don't understand why everyone is bashing this album so much. Granted, its full of painful cliches and generally incoherent and hilariously pseudo-deep lyrics, but that doesn't mean its bad. Take it seriously, yeah, its pretty poor, but just because it wasn't written to be humorous doesnt mean we cant enjoy it that way.
I mean, come on 'flesh shapes the day'. That is gold, haha. It may not be a very good serious attempt at song-writing, but the resultant snafu is quite amusing and enjoyable.

Been listening to this again recently. Tom isn't a versatile vocalist, but he gets his message across fairly well. The title track, the Road I Must Travel and Union Song are excellent.

I disagree, you cannot go into this hoping it is going to be like Morello's other stuff, that is not the point. This is great folk/political music. He is intentionally vague, that is a huge point to the songs. I think you either get it or you dont, I think its amazing music, and very strong lyrically. Also, I love his voice, its not a great voice by any stretch of imagination, but it fits this style so well.

This album is soooooo boring. I remember being really excited when it first came out, being a huge RATM fan and all, but was immediately put to sleep.
