I'll have to disagree with you as well. LoG's drumming is repetitive and boring. Their drummer should be banned from all double pedals because he overuses them so much. The guitarists are bland and display little, if any talent on the record. I have never been able to understand why these guys were ever even thought of being "technical", because they couldn't be farther away.

As I Lay Dying has some fast double bass here and there, but other than that they're nothing. Listen to almost any death metal band to hear seriously fast drumming.

I agree with Shadowsfallen. The drumming is alwways the same. Relativly fast double bass pedal beats with an occasional decent fill. If you want interesting drumming just listen to some Rush for crying out loud.

Lamb of God are fully capable of making great music. It's sad to see what could be talent wasted in boring metalcore.

Randy Blythe is a horrible signer.

Lamb Of God need more variety in their music. They'd be much better if they did. Their new CD should have more melodic breakdowns in it then this one.

I personal love Lamb of God, this music is pure american metal. The subliminal messages in their CD's are excellent.

Listen to LOG.

1st: Destined_For ... thank you for that highly constructive comment. It was like the "i have a dream" of CD reviews. I'm sure we'll all take it to heart. If you don't have anything constructive to say, don't post "i like this CD" just for the sake of posting something
2nd: There were 2 guest soloists on Ashes of the Wake (the song): Alex Skolnick (Testament) and Chris Poland (Megadeth), so don't judge Lamb of God's soloing (for better or for worse) based on that song unless you know exactly which solos THEIR guitarists are playing.
3rd: I personally like LoG's drummer; he started playing when the band started (played bass before that) and has apparently only ever learned one song that wasn't the band's. It's given him a relatively distinct style, especially in his experimental phase on "Burn the Priest" (and NAG, to a lesser extent). I think his interesting use of cymbals as an accent (in union w/ the guitar) and the sound quality of his cymbals themselves are both fantastic.
4th: If you don't like "chug chug" (eye-roll) riffs, go post in the power metal forums.
5th: Killswitch Engage – Talent = As I Lay Dying ... and never listen to the review of anyone with Mudvayne in their name.

I honestly don't see how you can say the songs all sound the same.

And the whole "chugga chugga" thing is getting annoying... you need a word for that.

Lamb of God is becoming big now and you just wanna hate um, so you make up stupid reasons.

Shitty music is not a stupid reason to hate a band.

It's his opinion whether he likes a band, and all of you guys coming in here saying that whenever a band becomes big everyone hates them because of that, and that is not the reason at all. Most of the time when a band becomes big they have changed their style, now you can't honestly tell me that you don't see a difference between Ashes Of The Wake, and As the Palaces Burn or New American Gospel.

Ah yes there is a difference, but that makes them all the more original, and i think they keep gettin better and better, even though i liked As the Palaces Burn better than Ashes of the Wake.

i agree that their repetitive but with a song like Laid To Rest i mean i realy cant diss them. That song rules!
