After listening to this album for the past couple of months I have decided that it is one of the top 3 albums of 2007 along with one of my favorite albums of all time!

I am going to see them live tonight at the House of Blues! I'm so excited! I'll be back on later to let you guys/gals know how the show was.

Thank you Sputnik for introducing me to this unbelievable album!!!!This Message Edited On 10.03.07

You get to see them live? You bugger, you twit! Why didn't you invite me along with you?

Also, Altmer, do you think the full version or the video edit, because I'm kind of partial to the full version.

Hey everyone!

The show was just as I imagined, unbelievable! They played pretty much every song I wanted to hear. They opened the show with "Fear of a Blank Planet" and played every song on the album except for "Sentimental". "Anesthetize" was the best song of the entire show!!! They sound exactly like their albums and the tone was clear and crisp. They also played 3 of the 4 songs from "Nil Recurring" and I was able to purchase the CD for $10.

Other songs they played "Lazarus", "Blackest Eyes", "Halo", "Open Car" and "Dark Matter". I'm still getting into Porcupine Tree, so I couldn't tell you the names of the other two songs they played, but when they introduced them, they said they were slated to be put on Deadwing and In Absentia albums, but never made it because they didn't fit into the scheme of the albums. They were just as awesome as the entire show!

They also had a large screen playing video behind the band but I really didn't pay that much attention because I was so focused on the band and the music. Trust me when I say i have seen a lot of concerts in my time and this show was up in the top 5! If they come near your town, this tour is a MUST SEE!!!

...Sorry Spectrum, I would have invited you to go along....This Message Edited On 10.04.07

Gah, they're not coming close enough to me for me to feasibly see them. Drat. Sounds like a show I'd have enjoyed, too.

Geedrummer,

Yes...The song they played that was not released on In Absentia was "Drown with me". Now I just need to find the name of the song for the Deadwing album : D This Message Edited On 10.04.07

There's three bonus tracks, I think, the other ones were Chloroform and Futile. Those are on my DVD-A copy, anyways.

Another devin avatar ftw.... this is some of porcupine tree's most solid work. it's definitely some of the most impressive stuff from gavin harrison and probably the heaviest and darkest stuff as of yet. in other words... it's awesome.

Signify is also twenty times more boring, and less poignant with its lyrical messages in my opinion.

I agree. And harrison doesn't drum on it, making it much less impressive. Signify is a solid release, but every song on this record is incredible. I'm thinking about bumping it up to 5 TBH.
