Meh, I have seen Freak on a Leash acoustic and it pretty much sucked.
Korn and Linkin Park were basically my first rock bands, later i moved on to Deftones and Slipknot. Nowadays i listen to metal, but also alt rock, prog rock, post rock, jazz, classical and electronica.

I can't tell if you liked it or not, this review was pretty much one sarcastic comment right after the other. Was an enjoyable read though. This album is badass, I'm not going to get into an argument about 'nu-metal' or anything of the sort (I ignore genres). I agree with you about Blind, I think they could have just left it out. Or tried again. Don't know which would have been worse in the long run.

Korn unplugged..... Wtf.

korn unplugged = the same thing as korn plugged in... bad.

"The ignorance of that statement is immesurable. Nu-metal has been a genre of music since Anthrax collaberated with Public Enemy, and it is most easily defined as 'New Urban Metal', which is basically a form of rock/ heavy metal blend that is musically powered by groove orientated bass-lines, simplistic guitar structures, jazz or hip-hop based substructures, and lyrical expression of angst/ anger usually displayed in childish way (see first Slipknot album). The genre was coined by Korn and pioneered by Korn, Limp Bizkit, early Deftones, and Coal Chamber in the mid 90's. As a genre now it is considered dead with a few bands either changing to a more hard rock style (see Disturbed and Staind), or a more industrial style (see new Korn and Deftones)."
You have no clue what you're talking about whatsoever. The term "nu-metal" didn't come into existence until the likes of Limp Bizkit came onto the scene. There had been flirtations between hip-hop and rock/metal before, but then Korn released their first album and fused a few styles of music--their first few albums fused metal, hip-hop grooves, funk, and even punk to a certain extent, and then a year after the first Korn album the Deftones released "Adrenaline" their first album, and a couple years after that when Limp Bizkit came out, THAT is when the media created the idiotic nu-metal label. Korn is not nu-metal in any way shape or form. Anyone who says they are deserves to get smacked upside the head for their unbelievable stupidity.

I like Korn. It was just weird listening to them without their usual sound. And he did hit some bad notes in Hollow life and creep.
|
| |
it was a stupid idea to have korn do unplugged. what a waste of time.

I love Freak on a Leash on this featuring Amy Lee...Evanescence are a guilty pleasure of mine
|
| |
Evanescence lol cool man cool
|
| |
Evanescence=win
|
| |
evanescence= moderately ok. They aren`t bad, but nothing special either
|
| |
I like Korn, but this is lame.
|
| |
yes this is lame. I like Korn too, but their newest wa kind of uninspired. Hope that their 2009 one will be better
|
| |
It probably won't be, and either way, people will hate it on principal
|
| |
yes, and I hate that principal stuff. people need to listen to the music before they say something, but sadly a lot of people are just biased and a lot people just want to bash a band cuz it`s cool. And that`s sad

Blind->unplugged
seriously?
|
| |
I dunno man, unplugging Korn defeats the purpose of Korn. IMO.
Just not feeling this.

Korn defeats the purpose of making music
