Solos on Fatal Trag are the worst part and still rule, that song is supreme

I was never blown away by this album like it seems most people were. A couple songs are instant DT classics, but overall, I thought the concept (the whole sci-fi-ish reincarnation, or whatever) was kind of silly, and ultimately lessens the appeal for me quite a bit.

A marvellous album for a concept record, and one that signifies the very definition of a fully blown concept. As well as the longest songs, both 'Fatal tragedy' and 'The Spirit carries on' prove their worth by exciting the listener with stellar musicianship and forward-thinking songwriting. I don't think 'Through my Words' and 'Through her Eyes' needed to be on the album, but that's only six minutes of a 77 minute collection of some of the best music in DT's database.

As much as Dream Theater have grown off of me in general, I still love Home.

I probably need to bump this down to a 4.5 considering Awake is my favorite DT now.

Agreed hard about Awake, I don't love DT so much now but Awake is their subtlest album and has stuck with me

Damn, I listened to this so much and it ruled hard but I haven't played DT in ages. Don't imagine having the urge to in

the near future either...

album is very good. even if i cant stand most bands that sound like dream theater i cant hate on dream theater because they pretty much popularized the whole sound and i respect originality in any form feel me?

yea. he was solid in the 90s and is still technically good but i just dont really connect with him. but i feel the same way about most prog/power metal type singers.
