The Scattering of Ashes is great. Their newest is terrible though =/

Agreed. Newest album has one good song IMO. This album, however, is one of my favorite metal albums ever.

Whenever I listen to this i'm surprised by how good it is, doesn't get enough credit.
Point of Uncertainty kinda sucks unfortunately, but the kickassness of Three-Dimensional Aperture more than makes up for it.

Point of Uncertainty is good dude come on lol. My favorite is either Splintered Visions or Beginning of the End. All of these songs completely slay though.

It's been a while since I listened to this one. Still amazing.

Nah Point of Uncertainty is bad. I can't stand the call and response clean+harsh vocals. You know, like when it's all "fuck you and your false perceptions" and right after "FUCK YOU AND YOUR FALSE PERCEPTIONS"
It makes me cringe.
Three Dimensional Aperture, Beginning of the End, and the title track make up for it though.

I like that man lol. Listening to that song right now actually. But my favorite is definitely Beginning of the End with Splintered Visions, Three Dimensional Aperture, Isolation, and Buried in Oblivion not far behind.

Idk it just seems so cheesy and contrived. Just stereotypical lame metal cliches. Luckily all of the other songs are really good for the most part thus the 4.5.
I feel like Black Sea of Agony could have been a lot better though. It's probably one of my least favorites actually even though it seems like it should be the album's centerpiece.

Black Sea of Agony probably is my least favorite on the album. And yeah it seems like it should've been the "masterpiece" or epic closer of the album or something when really it's not that great at all.

I like the whole buildup after the title track segues into it but after that it's just like "eh." The reprise of the main motif from the title track is well-done though.

Yeah true. Overall though I think the first half of the album is much better than the second.

I agree with the opinions on the first page. Just listening to this album, it's a crusher.

My favs off this one have always been Splintered Visions, Embraced by Desolation, Beginning of th End and Morose Seclusion. Isolation and Point of Uncertainty not so much.

Splintered Visions
Beginning of the End
3 Dimensional Aperture
Embraced By Desolation
Buried in Oblivion
Isolation
Spiraling Into Depression
Black Sea of Agony
Point of Uncertainty
Morose Seclusion
I still love every song though. Some are easier to rank than others, but god damn if this album isn't solid the whole way through then I don't know what is.

Yeah, it just takes several listens to understand. But overall it's awesomeness. Into Eternity is something you can get attached to real quick.

Into Eternity figured out that clean vocals sounds so much better...when they're supported by insanely
heavy riffs. I just kinda wish they, like Scar Symmetry, would have put a little more focus on
incorporating death metal vocals instead of mostly cleans, though.

For the newest album, 3 of the dudes friends died or something. You'd be thrown off too!
