People are going to poop on you and all for liking Chiodos etc. All I care about is this one sentence. The combination of metal-like riffs etc. is so played out at this point it's funny one could create a "masterpiece" album with the described formula. I don't see where this is going. They're generic but also somehow magically a 5-star album? No.

I like how the reviewer asks for criticism, yet when someone does criticize and offer some ways to improve, the reviewer comes back at him with a bunch of bull about why he's not going to use any of the suggestions made to him. Make up your mind. Do you want criticism or not?

Chiodos really isn't bringing anything new to the table nor are they doing something that has been done before exceptionally well.. definitely never higher than a four.
A five's a classic, and while I can understand people liking it, it's pretty easy for anyone to tell this album doesn't set a standard to which other albums should be measured by.

it's funny because I made that comment at 2am after a heavy night of drinking, yet it did not impair my judgement on this CD. I think that shows a lot.
Idea time: I think we should have a section where reviewers who have established themselves as good reviewers, i.e. approved reviewers, post little tidbits on how to improve reviews and methodologies (is that the right spelling? oh well) of building a review.
