Raise the knife should have been on there, its better than like 80% of these songs. However, Im still getting a flavor for the these
tracks. Im just listening to the album on repeat all day lol! Derek is a hell of an undercredited keyboarist also i might add...

Why are people saying that their debut is their worst album? It's awesome

Their debut is better than this album, that's for sure. It would be better than a lot of their albums with a better sound and James LaBrie singing.

Production quality isn't that great, especially compared to images and words which came right after, but I think WDADU is awesome, makes me sad to see so many people saying its their worst.
Wonder what it'd sound like if they re-recorded everything

how can you not enjoy every other song starting with new millenium?
1,3,5,7,9 and 11 are all amazing tracks
and Hell's Kitchen is one of the best instrumentals ever

The sad thing is that my favorite song from this album is "You not Me" or whatever the hell it's called.

I mean, all the more DT-sounding songs are bland and seem even more aimless than usual.

Used to never give this a chance after an awful first impresion. Listened to it today and it's actually pretty decent. Pretty accesible but kinda unispired at some parts. Not as awful as i remember it and not nearly as horrible as some DT fans make it out to be.

This is really underrated and one of their more consistently enjoyable releases in my opinion.

"This is really underrated and one of their more consistently enjoyable releases in my opinion."
Hell yeah. It has weak moments but its so like unlike modern DT that its enjoyable and not contrived.

Two things that people either hate or love about Dream Theater is this:
They are both blessed, yet cursed with having so much talent.
James LaBrie??? (i don't mind him but others might.)
Also, let's just say I'm another screaming DT fanboy (KILL: Oh god, not another fanboy. )

Well they tend to show off a bit (this is coming from a big fan). When I first heard them I was blow away, I loved the technical excursions, I still enjoy technicality, but at times it can seem immature, especially when its at the expense of songwriting. Artists like Steven Wilson made me realise that.
Yeah I used to defend James Labrie a lot, still don't mind him. They should experiment with vocal effects, etc. Bring something new and fresh.
I think your nick gives away your status as a DT fanboy :P.
