A lot of elitiest don't like this album because of Roadrunner, and that Opeth is getting a bigger fan base...really i think this album was very good, not there best, but not there worst...just ur normal 4.5/5 for an Opeth album:D

Not liking a band for becoming mainstream has nothing to with being an elitist.

this album was very good

Ugh, I was thinking of like elitists as in an experienced user who's all full of himself and looks down on newer members. I didn't realise until about a half hour after I posted that comment that it had other uses. Pardon the ignorance and such.

This album is probably the worst Opeth album I've listened to. It doesn't have the same magic the other Opeth albums have.

Nice review... some parts made me uncomfortable, but it was great overall.

I'm listening to Atonement right now, I completely understand your Spyro reference, I hear it.

*You might want to take the word "quire" and change it to "Choir" if i spelled that correctly.

That is the weirdest thing ever. Atonement reminded me of Spyro too, but I didn't know why. I haven't played Spyro in so many years, but I guess I subconsciously recognized Atonement as being similar to a Spyro song. I think this is why I like Atonement better than most people seem to.

Oh, and this album is way better than average.

So Opeth's only completely memorable song is In My Time Of Need.

Exactly. The Baying of the Hounds, Beneath the Mire, and Reverie are all equally as good.
