9 out of 11 songs are great on this album.

Lily Allen sounds way hotter than she is.

lmfao, certainly not on the caliber of a staff pick. She's great for eye candy and that's about it.

I think I made the staff pick.

I found it to be really appealing when it first came out. The buoyant music contrasted with wry lyrics you never hear from a female singer, and certainly not one of her age, was a refreshing discovery. The album as a whole has not aged particularly well, only two years on, but I still look back at "Smile" as a hallmark pop song.

I suppose it depends on what the intent of a staff pick is. To denote quality, or to spotlight an album that simply needs to be heard? Alright, Still was a relatively unique album that merited listening, and still does, even if it isn't your cup of tea. It is a fun, youthful album. You don't get that much these days especially from younger pop artists who forgo their affability for a pretense of maturity. I found Allen's approach more genuine, I suppose.

Not usually my thing, but she has some pretty catchy stuff. Dunno if i want to get the album. It has guilty pleasure written all over it, but man is she cute, and she has a great accent.

Alright, I got it and I'm glad I did. The best song here might be "Friend of Mine"

I think she lost a lot of her charm on the second album. The hits on Alright, Still are refreshing, and mostly memorable pop songs. The second album is just a mishmash of styles, she kind of disappears vocally and the melodies and and lyrics don't grab me the way her debut did.
