Gave this another spin today. Not as unlistenable as I previously thought, but I still can't conceive how anyone would put this over their later material. Very tedious and unimaginative songwriting with only a couple standouts.

If Dallas didn't sound like he's about to lose his voice, then this could have been a 5. Anyway, how is he doing after that accident that happened a year or two ago?

pretty damn rough according to the last few Facebook updates https://www.facebook.com/mayleneandthesonsofdisaster/

This band represents a lot of what the south has left behind with a trio of guitarists which layers the sound upon a lot of famous bands in the past known from this genre. No this isn’t some Hawthorne Heights bull*** but I have to admit I have a bias against any band having more than 3 guitarists. I mean I guess it gives a good layer of guitar sounds and some of the best bands had 3 but then again I feel like a lot of the guitar work can also easily be handled by 2. I watched videos and this band definitely feels good towards there southern heritage and I don’t see why they shouldn’t be.

He seems like he's doing a lot better, but couldn't find anything music related. He's got a badass eye patch now.

Yeah, for real. Survivability goes way up just by having a helmet on.
