Don't get me wrong, I love this album. I just think it doesn't hold up as the best album when you grow older.

the only thrice album that doesnt hold up is vheissu. that cd has some terrible songs. but i must say
that if i were gonna listen to any thrice album right now it would probably be beggars just because my
tastes are more in line with it now that im in my mid 20s.

I don't think it can be used to judge quality. I judge DLJ from listening to other bands like at the drive-in, fugazi, deftones... also, they only put out two lps, and both of them sound like Nirvana with more interesting time signatures... I also happen to like Nirvana
I think it's important to know where the well-spring of inspiration for making music is, that's relevance, because music comes from listening to and being inspired by other artists

see you in the shallows is great. I also like Deadbolt, to awaken and avenge the dead. that eight bit cover of to awaken gives me a neoclassical vibe. awesome
