It has three of my favorite In Flames songs (Only for the Weak, Pinball Map, Swim), but as a whole album, I wasn't too impressed.

The riffing in the verses of swim remind me of the opening to Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy...

Great album, great review

Took me a while to get into this album (for a while I only liked their newer stuff) but its really starting to grow on me. Unfortunately the same is yet to happen with Colony or Jester Race.

Which is too bad, seeing as how much better those albums are.

I dont think Colony is better but the Jester Race is the best work IF have done by miles

I think this one is as good, if not slightly better than the Jester Race.

I do both of them. The Jester Race may be melodic death metal at it's purest, but listen to Clayman more often because it's groovier and less repetitive.

The Jester Race has my favorite In Flames songs though ;)

^ Naw, it's more like "satellites und astroonouts." Then right after that part it sounds like, "Cubby sinou leese todou." Well, I don't know. It's been a month or so since I listened to it.

Either way, it's in the top three on Clayman along with Clayman and Only For the Weak. Anyone who doesn't like it can lick mother Mary's asshole in eternity! This Message Edited On 11.17.08

I'm now thinking Clayman is their best work. And its the one and only time where Anders vocals are actually really good. You can hear them and he doesn't quite sound like he's whining yet.

Plus the guitars are at their total best.

Swim, Only For The Weak, Clayman and Square Nothing own the most.

his vocals are pretty annoying on this to be honest, his scream is really squeaky

But on previous albums you couldn't even hear him. And it doesn't really sound squeaky to me, but maybe i haven't heard enough good vocals to tell. *shrug*

i see no problem with this album at all...how about EVERY track owns hard.

Square Nothing is my fav track...with that somewhat quiet opening erupting with "SPEND SOME QUALITY TIMMME...!" gives me goosebumps every time...
