Still Life is a good choice for their best. Damnation is probably my least listened to although definitely a good ‘un.
Heritage is the one!

Remember jamming Heritage when it came out and liked it, but haven't listened to it since then. That will definitely change in the following days, zak bro.

"Still Life" is my favourite followed very close by "Blackwater Park".
"Damnation" is amazing, a very special album in their discography. "Deliverance" is usually an underrated work. It's better than many think. Besides, "Damnation" and "Deliverance" are the counterpoint of each other. With both we can see the heritage of the band's music, its soft side and its heavy side. So, I cannot see why many people was surprised by the music's change of the band all over the years. All was there. Actually, we only just needed how to read those signs.

Why are fans so reluctant to admit this is the best Opeth record? Are they stupid?
