U don’t need to leave about it!

Anyways I’m grateful I’ve explored so much music and went deep down the elitism rabbit hole because if I didn’t I wouldn’t have ever come to the realization that I was more listening to some of that shit for the clout than because I actually liked it, and without that realization I’d still retain a lot of OCD listening traits that made music intake kind of a chore, and I’m much happier just knowing what I actually like now and not fronting like I’m super eccentric because I entertain such a vast plethora of genres
|
| |
I just like what I like and it’s often specific and oh well
|
| |
Yeah a lot of people are dishonest about things. Negatively or positively. I checked Mumford and sons recently and was surprised that their debut album was pretty good despite my prejudices.

Was the upshot of a couple pages ago that Pots has never checked John Fahey? I third-or-whatever the notion that he might really like that stuff.

You must be that guy who's deep into that avant-garde musique concrete universe in which you achieve to make sense whatever the musician is trying to do even if there's no music theory at all.

“ Like revisiting things? ”
More like compulsively cataloguing and rating things accurately and feeling like I have to listen to something completely to decide it’s worth. Now if I don’t like something or am unsure I skip through or abort entirely and move on. I had a weird almost clinical approach to listening to music that took away some of the magic.
|
| |
glad you could move past that, it can be annoying
|
| |
And I took my own (and others) tastes too seriously, I couldn’t enjoy junk food music or laugh at the shit i liked. I still love shit talking music taste on sput but honestly at the end of the day it’s so much more fun to be able to poke fun at the artists you like and listen to goofy fun shit than it is to think music is all serious business

The number of otherwise useless records I've jammed where there's been literally one KEEPable song that warranted making it to the end is potentially high enough to warrant the number of useless records I should never have touched in the first place :[
|
| |
a lot of that is probably societal on some level but yea agreed
|
| |
A lot of the people I respect most on here have the absolute most basic taste just because they awknowledge and own it and don’t care
I appreciate that more than people with super try hard obscure taste that are no fun
