It's true though, how many albums can we possibly listen to of 5150/Recto quad tracked with an SM57 direct on, triggered drums, bass drowned out completely, and enough presence to cut glass, with all the dynamics raped by a brick wall limiter. The new TBDM album is a good example. There are still a ton of albums out every year with a lot of character, but there are dozens (probably more like hundreds) of releases every year recorded more or less the exact same way.
