But this has Harvest. Which is twice as long as it should be. And annoying Wilson, which takes me out of it sometimes.

"But this has Harvest. Which is twice as long as it should be"

How is Wilson annoying in this?? Also Harvest rules, like not better than Leper, Drapery, Bleak, t/t, and Dirge but it’s still really good, and only 6 minutes long.

Better than Leper?

He's doing nothing wrong, I just have a big dislike for his voice. Can't stand it for some reason. Absolutely 100% a subjective thing.

In case my comment was misread, I was saying Harvest is NOT better than any of those songs I mentioned, just that it’s still very good despite that.

they should make an album of songs like harvest, it'd be better than anything since watershed

Hmmmmmmmmmm. I don't know about that. Would be happy if it would be (even) better, but I'm not sure!

"they should make an album of songs like harvest"
*squints in Damnation*

Yeah Damnation kinda fits that bill.
I’d love a whole album like the first half of Hours of Wealth if even possible, total magic that is. I suppose Storm Corrosion has some moments that sound like it.

damnation is quite different imo, but i was mostly just trying to defend harvest with my previous comment heheh

Hours of Wealth is among my fave Opeth tunes. Might even be my fave non-metal Opeth. Absolutely gorgeous. "the first half of Hours of Wealth" [2]

actually yeah 6 mins for Harvest is perf, and it is a little more "folky" than most of Damnation. I'd just enjoy new music that felt like it came from a really emotional, volatile place like albums through at least Ghost Reveries. Cauda kinda captured some of that but it doesn't feel like a journey the way Still Life, Blackwater etc do. you aren't in the same place as when you started the album, maybe not even the same person.
