I really love the idea of To Here Knows When but it just doesn't sound good

To Here Knows When sounds like an overwhelmingly intense drug trip where you're overwhelmed with euphoria but can't even really speak to express it so it just comes out as a moan or something

ive discovered revisiting slowdive this year that i pretty much think they suck though

ride also rocks, bowery electric aint bad either but thats still very much "mood" music. id fall asleep if i tried to drive to it but its good stuff

Slowdive is as excellent as a band can be while never really reaching true greatness

Chris Ott talks about that factor in his interesting series of videos on the genre, which includes an interview with the Swirlies lady

this has never sounded like a sad album to me, although there is something subtly poignant about a lot of shoegaze

i dont mean sad in like a sappy wimp way but just the idea of like mumbling vocals and staring at your shoes as you play carries a vibe of sadness. this definitely isnt like, grilling out and slammin beers and drivin fast type of album to me

Slowdive sounds like this if you took out all the elements that make this sound so amazing. In the genre of shoegaze this manages to have a unique sound
