skudboi - I can see a little bit what you mean about Stef's guitar on here though. The riff in Goon Squad RIPS, but in the hands of Terry Date, it would be straight apocalyptic

You'll find the same production you already like, but crank up the volume (the base volume will be much lower) and hear how pleasant music becomes when it's not artificially squashed

Never heard of HDtracks. They remaster a lot of stuff or what?
|
| |
They're usually the store I see name dropped the most for high-res music

fyi I don't think HDtracks actually do the remasters, but they offer remasters in FLAC that are available in other digital platforms in mp3 format or m4a.

Deftones are so flaccid these days. I'm surprised you Americans are still into them.

Most Americans only started liking them for their flaccid releases, aka this and DE

DE is the worst deftones, and it's the hill I am prepared to die on
The t/t is goddamn atrocious

Both this and gore are okay, but nothing beyond that. Could do without half of the tracks on either release.
|
| |
Pika why are you so bothered by DE's t/t? The "bridge" is offensively lazy but the wholesome warm chorus is gold and the last 30 seconds with the drum accents on the riff are sweet. It's also barely 3 minutes long.
Also Gore is one of my very favs and that's my hill

"gore is not okay it's tripe and DE is gold front to back : ) if you could listen to one deftones album on your hill forever tho, which would it be?"
WP or SNW, def.
Ten years ago, someone told me that t/t off DE sounds like one of them weird pop shuggah mash-ups and I can't unhear it ever since

Also, Gore would've benefitted a lot from a better production job, because in all honesty, it's not as bad as people make it out to be.

They have a point I guess but that doesn't sound too bad to me either haha
"SNW"
my man

Oh absolutely. I was typing the other day, throughout Geometric Headdress you can hear a lot of guitar layers in the distance that are mixed virtually inaudible
