The Writing on the Walls video is what pushed me to get snakebites at 18. Then I cracked a tooth on them 2 years later and never looked back. Damn that was a weird phase.

I've never let an interlude sway my opinion of an album

id never let it make me dislike an album since i can always just skip them but it just inherently puts it behind the two albums that play out perfectly fine without reaching for that button yfm. this album is allowed to rule and not be a 5 at the same time

However. I hate interludes. It just seems lazy to me. That doesn’t mean there aren’t great ones. But 9/10 times they’re a waste of space

im pretty tired of them in core music for sure. theres only so many variations you can do of the "blissful instrumental moment to breathe before getting hit by another ripper" out there lol

Interludes can work and it mildly works here would love for someone to make a list of all-time best interludes though

Agree they can work but they still need to have substance. Not just play some synth pad for 70 seconds

Like Disam has some ‘interlude’ style tracks like Driftwood but at least there’s like actual composition there and lots going on by Chris

Salmarnir works just fine as an interlude but I'll never listen to it on its own

wtf are you guys talking about. This album flows amazingly and Salmarnir works perfectly as a rest and build.

It does transition into the longer, more atmospheric tracks on the back half of the album quite well.
