This is a fantastic album, but there’s no way it’s a 5 because it is choppy and messy — that’s part of its appeal admittedly, but it still is a detriment to the album. It doesn’t FEEL like an album, it feels like a collection of amazing songs. Which is fine, I obviously have it 4.5’d and I think it’s a criminally overlooked addition to their discog — but for that reason, I could never 5 it. The fact they I have it 4.5’d is a testament to how fucking great the songs are though.

I know you’re referring to how most of their albums are 3.8s, but Chevelle is closer to a 4.5 band. Maybe a 4.3. 3.8 doesn’t do them justice.

Basically. Probably my favorite band along with Tool, Alice In Chains, and maybe even Linkin Park — I’m a huge Chester fanboy and that band holds so much nostalgia for me.
