I'll admit I haven't done a whole lot of research in this style, so maybe it's a matter of gettin used to it a bit, but it's mainly the presentation of the music i guess. Like how the production is huge and emotional and dramatic at all times but the music itself doesn't sound all that dramatic, impactful and emotive... like an imitation of the real thing, so to speak. It's almost all ear-candy and payoff with not enough dynamics for it to hit hard
