...I believe we get what it means in the context of this album. (Not an area of land).

"Porcelain heart gets too much hate. The acoustic stuff in that song is some of my favorite of theirs"

Wasn't initially that keen on it, but it grew on me big time and soon enough and till now, I consider it a lush highlight.

Also, that absurd drum fill makes Porcelain Heart a highlight

I will be your Porcelain Heart detractor if you need one.

Worst Opeth song ever.

The lyrics just have to be ironic.

Never understood the hate for Porcelain Heart, it's nowhere near the best here but I'll take it over Coil and Hex Omega without question.

We really gonna take all of damnation's lyrics seriously and claim porcelain heart is corny? lol

it has some pretty parts but it doesn't really go anywhere or do anything interesting, just the aa-aa-AAAA chorus twice, and bigger the second time. Aside from that track tho I've really come around on the rest of this record, it's kind of the Dirge for November of Watershed, not bad, but far weaker than the rest.

^Damn, Dirge is one of my favorites on BWP, lol

If anything, Harvest is by far my least favorite on that album

100% agree Kor, it could have been halved in length.

Hex is the underrated one here 😔💚

I believe it is possible to hold both viewpoints at the same time yes. The lyrics on Damnation do not make Porcelain Heart good - I hope you can see this logic.

But the music on Damnation is clearly better. Hex too.

I do like hex more than porcelain heart but I also think hex is one of the best on the album. That aaah chorus in porcelain is kinda lame by opeth standards but the lyrics don't bother me any more than a lot of their other cheese.

But anyway, no need to get "logical" on me lol. It was more of a fun jab at Mikael's melodramatic lyrics than anything

i dig this shit but u can really tell mikael was like uhh alright i'll make ANOTHER opeth album before i come out the closet. like there are many great riffs but the songs definitely feel less cohesive wholes
