Yeah, I'd say that last paragraph is pretty much it. It really changed his perspective of the record after. It presents an unhealthy headspace that it should be buried in the past like the band has, which I thought was a little unfair but opinions and all. Just wanted to see what you guys make of it since Sput is really the only place I know who praises this record so highly. This has never put me in an unhealthy mental state *shrugs.

Great music often comes out of negative emotions. Like yea you can be glad that they worked out their issues and came out of what was evidently a very dark time in the band’s history but it also yielded some of the best material they’ve ever made and I’m not gonna stop listening because I feel bad about the conditions it was made under

Yeah, exactly. I've always gravitated towards the heavy emotional aspect of this record. It made for some of their most daring and beautiful music. DE and Koi are fantastic but definitely more commercially leaning.
