Love to see new people finding this band because of the new record. This band was so crucial in my formative years with music

I'm fine with it at this point, it has that brittle touch as if you've past the mesosphere and are about to burn back down with little oxygen

I feel like the thin production is deliberately part of the atmosphere. Feels light and spacey where there heavier prod of their first two wouldnt do these songs justice

I just attribute it to this being their first full length on a decent sized label so they maybe didn’t have a huge budget. But it’s also pretty comparable to other bands doing similar stuff during the time it was released

cool thing that they tapped the Hum guitarist for the production to give it that same vibe as his band had it on Astronaut, which was I'm sure what HF was going for

they were in such a bad spot with their greedy label too, ended up owing the band $20k moreorless

That’s more or less why they had such a revolving door of members towards the end. Garbage ass trustkill

I like how the owner couldn't keep his bullshit up and started a fresh label that lasted only 5 years with not much to show for

Production is a little rough but it kinda fits as well. Has that raw sound to it that helps it when it gets heavy. The spacier moments it doesn't help as much.
