I still enjoy this album. Yeah, it's not traditional or old school Metallica. It doesn't have solos. Those ridiculous trash can drums are a bit much. But I still believe that if this album was released under a different band name, or not a single thing was different but it was another band that made the CD, it would've done really well.
The documentry was kinda cool too but made them look slightly like a bunch of faggots. Either way, I still like this, even though pretty much the whole world does not. If it comes up on shuffle I usually turn up the volume and jam.

@Impervious, that's cool that you like this album, but I can honestly say even if this wasn't Metallica I don't think it would have done well at all. It's very repetitive, obvious drumming problems which you mentioned, very bland, etc...but then again, I guess we'll never know how it would do. I personally still wouldn't like it. Not to be offensive, but that's like when people try and tell me "You would love Episode 1 and 2 if you didn't see the originals!" which is totally false because the prequel trilogy was horrible on its own terms as well.

I can't even bump this an extra .5 :/ this is one of my least favorite albums, not even saying that because it's cool to hate- I actually kinda wish I liked this since it's raw and angry but it's just...so...blah
