After jamming some more, I'm not getting the strong opinions on this positive or negative. This is a fine slab of tech death and the production isn't nearly as egregious as some stuff in the tech/prog space. Musically not really my bag but its always been a hit or miss genre for me personally

it's just funny, one dude 5'd this and said it's the best metal album of 2026 (it's May) and then goes on to say it's actually the best album of 2026. The implications of that are astounding lol

seriously nude you need to explain yourself on "sterile computerized production" when you listen to a ton of overproduced djent lol

I listened once to this recently. I may or may not listen again.

Note that these days I don't rate a lot of stuff, but stuff I may forget later I might leave rated for reference.

Nude you can’t really enjoy djent as much as you do and also pretend to not know what it is, right?

I don’t think this sounds sterile at all. And his vox are like, almost 50% of the draw. You just have to settle in

My only complaint is I wish he vomited syllables less frequently. I know it’s his schtick, and I dig it, but it would be way more appreciated in doses as opposed to like constant rapid fire at times

Yeah I don't know about this djent stuff but it sounds like a nothing phrase people use pretty frequently here

a trve djentleman would acknowledge the existence of the genre they love, once a repressed entity without a home, the legitimising of its very being as a trve genre in its own right is being eradicated by this absurd denial

that said, thall cowards smok craic

Ive always viewed this band as kinda gimmicky with their speed. As with most tech death: i respect the talent but its overall a nope for me.
"
Djent is a subgenre of Progressive/Math Metal born out of Meshuggah and played by groups such as Periphery, Tesseract, Born of Osiris, and others. It's most easily distinguishable by the syncopated polyrhythms and a characteristic guitar tone." This is an explanation of djent i found

It's easiest to distinct it by lack of riffing. 'Huggah is different ofc. Their bastard childs idea of music is is play notes as fast as possible in fancy rhytms. This band also riffs sometimes=not djent.
