they don't do anything live
they're like opeth minus the charm and good music.

Really? I find the guitarist don't do much, subsiding the lead guitarist head-banging. But Tommy and
Dan tend to move around quite a bit.
I mean, they're no Dillinger Escape Plan live, but...

How so do you figure? It's a pretty integral component of a live show. Especially considering that
there isn't much beyond that, interaction and accuracy. The actual enjoyment of the content is
typically predetermined. The only reason I disputed presence, Andcas, was because it was previously
cited as a reason the band generally 'sucks'.

I dunno about you guys but first and foremost when it comes to a live show, I go to hear the music. Though I will agree stage presence is a great great thing to have, I wouldn't mind if there wasn't a lot of it and the music was fucking spot on and they at least looks like they're enjoying it.

this album had completely different members when it was written and recorded. The original line up on this record only
played three shows before castillo joined byd and the other guitar player was replaced by two others before dusty joined
in and the bassist replaced by briggs three tours after. they had a greater presence with that line up. what they have now
is a bunch of nerds boring me to death. i caught btbam 4 times in 2004 after the album came out and the venues they
played were small, intimate settings that really made an impression with their then line up and set lists that only had
songs from the debut and TSC to stem from. now, btbam post colors is a completely different ball game. album still rocks
all cocks imo.

"@TrantaLocked: Yeah, but your opinion is pretty much valueless."
So you agree with me, but yet you discredit my opinion.

Did you guys even see Colors Live? Briggs is the man with his head circles, Paul has the whole death metal headbanging going on in some parts, I agree maybe Dusty is a little statuesque and Blake Robinson can't help but stay in one place anyway. Tommy just moves everywhere and shakes his fists about. This ain't hardcore brah, it's progressive.

People giving this album a 2 is almost as bad as people hating on Converge and CTTS.

album is closer to a 2 than a 5, that's for sure
and no, ratings don't scale linearly

This isn't a classic in the metalcore genre? Really?
This is one of the biggest benchmarks of the genre.

I wouldn't consider it one. I mean, it's not bad by any means, but definitely not a classic for me. Although they're not ranked as 5's, I wouldn't put any of BtBaM albums up with Axe to Fall or Jane Doe, for example.

Axe To Fall was boring.
And this is definitely one of those albums that blew everyone's mind and changed everyone's ideas about the whole style when it came out.
