aye, i think it's interesting how often i see you in negative threads, not to say you lack positivity bc u obv don't but actively sitting thru an album u know you won't fw is something i try not to do these days unless im feeling super masochistic
jay, benefit of the doubt maybe johnny's reviewing something else

yeah he never said he was reviewing this lol

probably also a reflection of the stuff you're active in and/or the flavour of the week sput talking points? i bump plenty of threads for records i enjoy (including celebrity therapist, which i thought was solid and occasionally rly great, if a little overhyped)
don't *hate* what i've heard from this so far, but frontierer and lies for the liars-era the used are not two things i particularly care to hear combined in the way they're served here although there's a time and place for them both individually. the straight-up patton worship is more fun though, will give it a full pass later
and yes lol i have zero interest in reviewing this cool your jets

I sit through albums I think are gonna be received very well or at least have interest in the band prior. And to be able to talk about whatever it is. Such as when I subjected myself to Pink Elephant and Forever Howlong, both amongst the worst 1.0 albums I’ve ever set through.
Granted I had to sit through Forever Howlong in like 3 different chunks. I’d listen to it til it about made me vomit which wasn’t but about 20 minutes or so then pick up later. Lol. Pink Elephant released on a shitty weekend I was driving to the beach and just needed something to play

Likes Two Headed Trout but doesn’t like the album so far while only hearing half of it… sounds like a very incomplete opinion and everyone can take a step back and wait until he actually hears the album.

I never go into an album expecting to hate it. Except every now and then I'll jam a meme album a la Sleep Token or Behemoth just to see if it lives up to the hype of how shit it is.

i think this would be more of a take on somethin like even in arcadia like u already hated tmbte so if i was in ur pos i would've actively avoided future work to save me the headache (i don't think EIA is that good tbf)

I just wanted to see just how bad it was. Certainly lives up to the hype!

yeah that album was never gonna change a hater's mind. it did actually wake me up to how annoying some of their stuff really could be since the parts of Eden I was just tolerating is more centered on Arcadia

I actually like Even in Arcadia. First time I listened I had it rated 1.5 and hated it then I listened again and was like well… that’s really actually good and went to a 3.0 then 3.5 and now I got it a 4.0 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️. I think once I realized it reminded me of Ark Work I realized I liked it

Sleep Token to Liturgy pipeline? Hmm tbh I have EIA and Ark Work rated the same so maybe it's more likely than I think

I AM WORTHY OF THE ARK AND I HOPE TO GOD YOU CAN'T SWIMMMMMMMMM
Really, really solid album.

I wouldn’t say they’re extremely similar but both metal-adjacent albums, emphasis on hip hop/electronic beats, very odd/quirky vocal styles, and songs that go on for longer than they probably should. I do think Ark Work is better but a lot of people don’t like that album either

Greyhaven have indicated they will be releasing a new one in the new fex months. It seems both bands like each other so my optimistic self is praying for a double headline tour of Australia at some stage.

Recently heard Carson talk about listening to Bohren and Der Club of Gore - can definitely hear those influences throughout this at times
