Listening to this album has convinced me that if VOLA wore masks and hid their identities they could be selling out stadiums.

VOLA doesn't have the melodies.

Vola makes mathy prog shit, and not accessible pop metal with occasional harsh metal interludes. Masks wouldn't change that, but yes, a lot of bands need some kind of gimmick to stand out.

Vessel, my Brother in Arcadia, TAKE A BREATH FOR THE LOVE OF SLEEP!

Man's got lungs built like the TARDIS( 'cause he's British) meanwhile here's my amateur butt gasping for air halfway through the 2nd verse trying to sing along.

This concludes my mini-rant, back to your regularly scheduled worshiping.

To be clear, that was not a dig at VOLA. I love VOLA. I saw them live a few weeks ago and they kicked ass. There were just several moments listening to this album where I found myself thinking "If people like this so much, they'd lose their fucking minds over VOLA."

VOLA is pretty good stuff, agreed. And I think the main difference between VOLA and these guys is that VOLA makes their music *interesting* while ST somehow manage to do nothing while doing a lot of everything. Seriously, I haven't been this bored with an album in a long time.

I also think a lot of my frustration comes from the fact that there are glimpses of interesting, fun music here--but these are quickly replaced by tired trap beats and Vessel's insufferable autotune. They could do and be so much better, but instead we're stuck with this wet noodle of an album that I genuinely don't ever care to hear again.

As the closing screams of ‘Infinite Baths’ fade into black, we are left with the realisation that this once in a generation band may have just made the defining rock record of the last decade, an LP built for a new generation unfazed by their quick-flying movement between worlds and ready to devour and analyse every intricate detail shared across their most personal work to date.

You folks gotta stop with the copypasta reviews, they are killing me with cringe. That other one about dancing was particularly horrid.

my friend just asked me if I wanted to see this band live, now last night I think I had a dream where I was at their show and maybe 10 or so other people were there and he started doing some weird ass dances. I'm starting to believe this Vessel god is real, maybe he's like some Bob from Twin Peaks shit and I need to fight him in my dreams, or fight my friend idk

"Even In Arcadia isn’t just a record—it’s a reckoning. Sleep Token has shattered expectations and bled through their mythology, confronting fame’s brutal cost and unveiling a band on the edge of transcendence. This is no myth, no divine ascension—this is the raw, relentless sound of a band collapsing inward to face their own truth. Because sometimes myths bleed."

Maybe I'm a masochist, but some of these reviews are just pure gold. Such appalling adulation shouldn't even be thought, let alone written for the public to read.

"If this album doesn't give you goosebumps and transcend you into another dimension, I don't know what to tell you. Maybe you are a cyborg and are incapable of emotional responses. Each and every ST album is unique and stunning. I have not come across a band that has made me feel this intense in my entire 42 years on this earth. Anyone that cannot appreciate the musicality and the goddamn lyricism, I just....I can't be anywhere near that insanity. Honest to God, if you can listen to the first track "Look to Windward" and not wish somehow Vessel's voice and tone could be injected into your veins, then your brain is broken. And for the metal gatekeepers, I have seen ST described as "poetry metal" which I actually think is lovely, but they are more than that. They are absolutely unique and every song on every album is a rollercoaster. I couldn't get tickets for the tour, but I am literally checking Ticketmaster 10 times a day hoping for a resale ticket, and I will continue to do so until the 9/24 show in Philly. I have never felt so compelled to be at a concert in my entire life. I am even considering just hanging out in the parking lot if I can't get in, is that even a thing?? Bottom line, this album is stellar and I will die on that hill forever."

I'll tell you what I see here...the scenery of the future. Eventually the only scenery left. The more toxic the waste, the greater the effort and expense a tourist will be willing to tolerate in order to visit the site. Only I don't think you ought to be isolating these sites. Isolate the most toxic waste, okay. This makes it grander, more ominous and magical. But basic household waste ought to be placed in the cities that produce it. Bring garbage into the open. Let people see it and respect it. Don't hide waste facilities. Make an architecture of waste. Design gorgeous buildings to recycle waste and invite people to collect their own garbage and bring it with them to the press rams and conveyors. Get to know your garbage. And the hot stuff, the chemical waste, the nuclear waste, this becomes a remote landscape of nostalgia. Bus tours and postcards, I guarantee it. Don't underestimate our capacity for complex longings. Nostalgia for the banned materials of civilization, for the brute force of old industries and old conflicts.

Yeah that’s a good succinct way to describe this

"Poetry Metal" sounds cool, but I'm doubting this is it
