I have always felt like I am at least a decent writer, technically speaking. When I read things I have written, it seems to me that I have been able to express myself with at least some amount of clarity and competency. But like I said, I have felt at most times that my ability to dissect and analyze the music I love is largely lacking, especially as compared to some of you guys. I am jealous of this ability, but ultimately I am fine being a hype-man.
Maybe someday when the kids are out of the house and I have more spare time, I will feel like honing my skills to be able to do such things. For now I am perfectly happy with how things are for the most part. I will gladly be the Flava Flav to you all's Chuck D. But I did feel like I owed at least a bit of an explanation for not knowing the quote, since you spelled it out in the review; I feel like I have made comments before in this thread regarding the quality of your review, which does appear to be strange if I completely botch a quote that the review spells out lol. I have a lot of respect and admiration for the breadth of your (Nex) genre knowledge, and so even if an explanation wasn't *owed*, it is something I wanted to offer.
In no way do I want you to feel bad, or anything like that; I simply wanted to explain the situation from where I am sitting.
But I do love you guys, and this place. Being able to connect with like-minded individuals here on a musical level has been absolutely instrumental in not only keeping me sane, but making me feel generally fulfilled for the last 12-plus years, so thank you all for that. That is something I would not trade for literally anything.

Yeah it's always nice to find people who share your musical tastes, specially if music is a big part of your life. This type of site makes you see there are other people around the globe with ears able to appreciate and enjoy extreme metal music as much as you, and that's key to keep you sane if everybody around you in the physical world thinks you are 'crazy' or 'satanic' or whatever (lol) for enjoying stuff like this.
PS: This is pushing very hard to surpass Passages as my fav DS man... What an album!

I'm not quite as astronomically-high on this album as I was the first 2-3 weeks after its release, but it is for sure an ez classic and honestly probably tied for my aoty with cutting the throat of God. Psalms will most likely always be my favorite DS, but this is either 2nd or 3rd place in their discog for me, with sanguinary rounding out the top 3
