Fabulous album. This and Children of the Moon are possibly two of the strongest screamo releases to have come out in over a decade.

damn this is fucking awesome. clim knows me so well. glad he pushed me into getting around to this one. this flows incredibly well, i just find myself letting the whole thing play when i come back to certain songs. love the emo guitar melodies mixed with such punishing heavy riffs. sucker for those shimmery tremz. vocals on point with the tone and emotion and the post-metal sections with builds are my favorite here. i kinda hope they eventually go even longer songs, think those are the best here. and the fucking bass! absolute ear candy, i love a heavy album with that pulsating bassline.
the jamz- scaffolding, critique programme, devotion (goddamn), no resolution, runaway

The hardest part of getting into this for me is the vocals. I had a similar issue with a lot of State Faults, I'm not used to this howling shrieking style of vocals

Everything else is fucking gas though, that bass hits like a ton of bricks

One year later, and this still holds up. Devotion is incredible.

this record really got fucked over by coming out the same year as Children of the Moon. Not often you make aoty material and kinda get brushed aside by a genre high point for the last like decade at least

you’re not wrong at all, and I felt the same way actually at the time. I just didn’t say anything about it, but I think a couple users did
