honestly it makes it less impressive, she had the advantage of already being semi famous and the bar was on the floor

Yeah, but it’s also going to be a bit of a hurdle when you’re held to that bar every time your name comes up

that’s not how a low bar works. anything she does is automatically impressive because it’s in contrast to Friday

I was talking about this with my partner a while ago actually. Despite Friday making her famous for all the wrong reasons, everyone knows that song. Friday tripped and fell flat on it’s face in public so that Let Her Burn could run. It might be an embarrassing start but becoming a meme is a hell of a way to make a name for yourself. And people love a good glow up / redemption arch. I don’t think she ever could have propelled herself to this status without Friday. It made her career.

I used more words which made it seem more impressive despite being entirely redundant

The capacity of human intelligence seems to limit the capabilities to expand upon any possible creative aptitudes. Indeed, if one cannot even notice the facets that the ingenuities around him are comprised of, how can he be expected to fashion a beast of his own? This inveterate sense of constraint is a great blow to the veracity of mankind’s abilities. It restrains us and holds our minds to the ground below, averting any possibility of rising above ourselves to something greater; something not fathomed by the conventional mind. This concept of seeking to go beyond one’s self, known as “transcendence”, is essentially a gateway to unlocking pieces of ourselves that can lead to some of the most elaborate and significant creations of our world. For many, this quest to transcend and form creations that were once considered unthinkable and overwhelming consumes life. Certainly it is rare to find such people, but when they are found, creative barriers are destroyed.

Years from now I think Sputnik users will look back on their low ratings of this album and ask themselves what they were thinking, I think the overall feel evoked by this album is a perfect fit for the summer and is a very flattering evolution of JM's work
