Literally every song on here is a palm-muted chugfest which by 2022 is a sound beaten into the ground since 2009

Album definitely rocks
I feel like they deviated just ever so slightly from their sound and as a result, the album feels fresh af. The boys put out another fuckin gem

I hope the rest of the album grows on me as much as the singles. That closer is definitely killer though.

Speaking from experience, when contrarians are beaten and big mad they start pulling out the "LITERALLY" like why do you care so much lmao

I kind of doubt anyone will agree with this take because there's probably not a big crossover fanbase, but whatever. I feel like Counterparts and DGD are both are criticized as generic, but nobody can properly recreate the sound of either. I've honestly spent so much time searching for clones of both bands and never had much success. Like yeah, there's a lot of mediocre swancore and a lot of mediocre melodic metalcore/hardcore but that doesn't inhibit my enjoyment of the best bands in both genres. Of course the latest DGD albums have been extremely disappointing and don't count.
But I do get that some people are sick of both sounds, which is fine. Benefits of a subjective review site.

^ Because many people will praise novelty and forget that it can be much harder to make something that is already there as the best it can be. "Generic" has never always been a negative term for me.

Definitely agree that while these guys aren't doing anything revolutionary by any means, I've NEVER been able to find a band that nails this particular sound (mid 00's metalcore but pretty) nearly as well.

There's some parts of this I enjoyed like the end if Unwavering Vow but this needs more techy less chuggy

even though they’re different stylistically, a few tracks into this one made me just want to listen to Shai Hulud’s “Reach Beyond the Sun” instead.

It's my least favorite clean chorus on this album but the last part is 👌

A Mass Grave actually left me speechless. it is so epic. I never thought they could do this, totally another level. (alright, an overkill maybe) I've seen a couple of times in this thread where people didn't like the choruses, on the contrary I fully accept them.

@JesperL Sounds like a great time! It was great news to have gentle moments at the show as I was constantly worried about whether I would be knocked to the ground.

RIP. Average is taking a nosedive just like Melancholy did. Soon the 1 trolls will arrive.
