I only see people talk about him, but never watched. I think past a certain point you don't really need to read reviews anymore. I was very into it back in the day, but I now I feel like I'm able to form and express my own opinions. Sometimes it's fun and if you know the reviewer's preferences, reviews can still be helpful

But it's absolutely true for me

I'm giving Melon an average to strong 7. I get a lot out of reading a review or two after having checked an album out to contrast my own opinions to or to find a way of approaching the music I might have missed the first time around

Not anymore. They're nowhere near as lively, seldom as creative as they were from '80 to '95 and really limited in how they write no matter how long they make their songs.

Yeah, I am. It goes to show that it doesn't matter what generation of metal bands Maiden was from when their peers have done stuff in the '00s and '10s, decades later, that is substantially more compelling.

The problem isn't really their sound. It's their writing. That's kind of why a lot of people love SIT but hate this and their previous albums, even if they have a preference for late '80s Maiden. You're basically telling people that they can't or shouldn't criticize something for stupid aesthetic reasons that have nothing to do with the core of their problem with the music. No amount of listening to an album on repeat solves that.

How fucking good is The Time Machine. The opening, buildup, transitions & guitar melodies and solo. And it ends in typical Maiden fashion by recalling the opening

Lost in a lost world through the time machine is probably the best section of the album

Lost In A Lost World is easily my favorite. Such a well crafted and written song. The various riffs ( that one in particular - you guys know which one I mean), the vocals, the chorus, the solos. All the elements have a different feel to them making it so good as a whole.

No of course not, but referring it as garbage just further suggests to me your feelings on it are jaded, it’s not a fair criticism, and that’s why, yeah even after 100 listens you’ll still dislike it, but not because it’s actually that bad, but more because you have gotten offside with it if that makes sense. We often do get offside on certain albums, especially when we start trying to defend why we dislike it, and people get your goat up saying otherwise, its just natural. All I’m saying is, see if you can give it a go letting go of the hate – (as that leads to the darkside. Haha) then maybe you might start thinking its not so bad (might not like it but you might not think its “garbage”) but na all good man whatever, shit album for you no worries. It’s definitely not my favourite but I think it’s another overall pretty solid album by them.
