all sorts of opinions here boys, but ya gotta be aware of the one's who prefer indie rock, electronic, or present day pop.....they're all allowed in here

Rush are the goats, but I prefer faux prog for the most part [2]

In hindsight, that seems almost as absurd as saying that they sold out with BWP by bringing in Steven Wilson. lol

At least you got to see them before they became total grandpas! That DVD is an absolute gem.

And yeah, I'm much more of an indie guy these days. Haven't been that into metal since high school, though I still love the classics.

"i thought they sold out when watershed was released, kinda hilarious in retrospect"

That's really interesting because i really enjoyed and still do enjoy Watershed. Yeah they went in a more progressive direction but they didn't (at least to me) completely throw out their sound and identity in the way they did with Heritage.

I'm less into metal than I was 10-15 years ago too but that's because I expanded into other genres too. I go through phases, at the moment I'm really digging progressive or "faux" (:P) progressive rock/metal. That'll change at some point.

Yeah GR is also a close 2nd to me behind BWP. I think I got a case of oneitus with Opeth as BWP was the first album I listened to from them and made me love them as a band.
