I agree, Parabola! This started out as a 3 or 3.5 for me, but once i started listening to it more it sort of caught me off guard. I started noticing the lyrics more and appreciating the dynamics of the songwriting and production. It is Manchester Orchestra. What can i say? It is gorgeous

"I've taken a full 180 on this album. These songs take a while to make an impact, but once they do, they stick"

Andy Hull is just about the best vocalist in indie rock, you fucking weirdos.

(And the performance he gives in this record is incredible.)

I mean if you love hearing someone sing out of their nose yeah he’s the best

Seriously though, the first time I saw them live was the first time I had heard them and he sang and I was like ffs this is the most Nasal singing I’ve ever heard. He’s fine now In my opinion

I noticed the clipping too, Milo

Mainly on the vocal track, but only a couple of times throughout. There’s some distortion on some of the electronic drums in the background at times, which can make it sound like it is clipping

I can understand a lot of complaints with this album but Hull's vocals should never be one of them

Hull's vocals are fairly low on the list of things that are not great about this
But they are definitely there
